Skiing in the summer sounds quite amazing but it can be done with today’s modern ways of gathering snow from the winter season and keeping it to the summer. The summer ski sprint tour, organized for the third time in 2009 is a unique competition for elite skiers held in China.

Around 50 of the best European skiers plus 30 of the best Chinese skiers will participate in this summer ski sprint tour which will take place in Aershan and Yakeshi City in Chinas Inner Mongolia Province. We will also see at least 3 Olympic Champions coming to fight for the medals in a competition where skiers can gather official points from FIS-the International Skiing Federation.

The 2 stages of the competition will both be a 1200 m sprint competition where the winner is decided by a qualification race, quarter finals, semi finals and a final, much like in athletics. This is an exciting new way of doing ski competitions which has become very popular among both athletes and spectators in recent years

Summer Ski Sprint Tour will be held from June 8th to June 12th, 2009
