Anders Högberg could with his victory in Aershan Stage and his 5th place in Yakeshi take home the trophy of the total winner of Summer Ski Sprint. Norwegian junior Maiken Caspersen Falla made a perfect tournament and became an unthreatened champion by finishing number one in both the sprint stages.
Maiken who finished with the fastest time in the Qualifications, closely followed 3 hundreds of a second by Mirva Rintala and then
countrywoman Tyldum, went through with a strong performance all the way to the final and the victory throphy. Last years winner of Summer Ski sprint on the women’s side – Solfriid Braathen – finished 5th in the finals in Yakeshi.
In the Mens qualification rounds, Tour de Ski Changchun sprint stage winner Johan Edin took the leading time before Trond Iversen NOR and Thobias Fredriksson SWE leaving Högberg on 11th position. In the Final rounds, Iversen showed that he deserved the stage victory by taking the first place before Adam Johansson, a Swedish skier of the younger generation who had worked his way up from a 7th position in the qualifications. He was in turn followed by Finlands Pakkonnen and Estonias Vahur. Anders Högebrg could go on to claim the total Tour Victory though by his finishing position as number 5.
Olympic gold medalist Thobias Fredriksson finished 6th in Yakeshi just after countryman Högberg.
