Estonian Champion joins China Tour de Ski

 

The 2011 national champion from Estonia, Siim Sellis, has confirmed his participation for this year's China Tour de Ski in Xiwuqi and Changchun. Sellis is in good shape following some decent performances in FIS and World Cup events in Finland, Switzerland and Germany. The 24-year-old youngster so far has achieved his best international results in the Scandinavian Cup, and mainly in the sprint circuit. It will be Sellis' first participation in the China Tour de Ski.

Former TDS stage winner returns to China

 

The number of confirmed elite skiers for Vasaloppet China and the overall China Tour de Ski is increasing as we are edging closer and closer to the big week. Swiss skiing star Gaudenz Flury, winner of a very tough Tour de Ski stage in Shangri La, Yunnan Province, two years ago, is coming back to China to take part in the competitions in Xiwuqi and Changchun.

The 31-year-old Flury (photo right) is an excellent sprinter, and will definitely be among the top favourites for the races that take place in Inner Mongolia on 28 and 29

Tour De Ski China 2010 – 2011 Great Success

The 4th Tour De Ski China 2010 – 2011, with the support of FIS - the International Ski Federation and CSA - the Chinese Ski Association together with the co-organizers of Changchun and Xiwuqi Municipal Governments, National Sport Arenas and Nordic Ways came to a brilliant end. 

This 4-stage journey travelling from Xiwuqi, Inner Mongolia, Bird’s Nest Beijng and Jingyuetan National Park, Changchun, Jilin Province with two categories of Sprint and Long Distance has attracted a lot of attention.

MEN AND WOMEN 16.7KM
The first three places of female 16.7km have all been taken by three skiers from Russia -- Бурлакова Е.В. the champion, Филиппова О.С. and Спасская К.О. are the 2nd and 3rd places. For Male part, the Swedish skier, Lewandowski Daniel has been the 1st place, with Панченко П.В., Доровский М.В. taking the 2nd and 3rd

Xu Wenlong – the Champion of Men’s 1.2 km Sprint Final
Chinese skier Xu Wenlong still keeps moving forward from 3rd in stage 2 to 1st in stage 3, though he has a really tough time in qualification and ranked in 10th. EDIN AT TOP POSITION FROM QUALIFICATION TO FINAL
Swedish male skiers had a really lucky day for the Tour de Ski China 2010-2011 Stage 2, which was held today in XiWuQi. In morning qualification, Johan Edin was faster than Finish Kusti Kittilae and 2006 Olympic Champion Bjorn Lind at the top. But for his quarter final, Edin had at really tough finish with Hoegberg, SWE on 

Tour De Ski China 2010 – 2011 Stage 1, Xiwuqi, Inner Mongolia Finishes

Today is the first stage of the 4th Tour De Ski China, Dec. 28th, 2010. There have been around 80 professional skiers from over 10 countries taking part in. The top 2 Man’s 5.4km skiers are both from Sweden and Chinese skiers have taken the Women’s 3.6km first 5 places. 

 It’s pretty a crucial day for all skiers with the temperature of -19.3℃ in Xiwuqi, Inner Mongolia. The whole race begins at 15:00. For Man’s 5.4km, Jonhansson Adam and Hoegberg Anders, both from Sweden, are almost keeping the same pace for the whole event. Hoegberg was beaten by Jonhansson only with the gap of 1.08 in 

The First-Step Recognition of 2010-2011 Tour De Ski Program

So far the first-step recognition for the 2011 Tour De Ski program has been decided. There are 5 stages in total this year which will cover two stages on the grasslands of Wuzhumuqin in Xiwuqi, one stage in Beijing Bird’s Nest Arena, one stage in Changchun Jingyuetan Park, and the stage 5 is to be confirmed. The whole Tour De Ski duration will be from December 26th, 2010 to January 6th, 2011.

2010 China Tour De Ski Stage 3 will be held in Beijing Bird’s Nest Arena!

2010 China Tour De Ski, an annual ski tour arranged by FIS, CSA (Chinese Ski Association) and Nordic Ways is coming with its highlight. Nordic Ways are honored to sign the contract to hold the 3rd stage of China TDS in Beijing Bird’s Nest Arena. Also, the date of Dec.30th is already final confirmed.

Larsson King again, this time in Inner Mongolia

Around 3000-4000 people were watching Peter Larsson win the last stage of Tour de Ski China in Inner Mongolia today. This was his second victory in the tour since he also took the first place in Shangri-La last week. In the final Larsson was accompanied by two other Swedes; Fredrik Persson and Fredrik Bystrom, but it was Jari Joutsen from Finland who took the second place.

Among the women, Lena Pichard from Switzerland was the first to cross the finish-line in the final. Followed by Barbara Morrigel from Italy, and on third place Therese Carlsson from Sweden that did an excellent competition.

 

Summer Ski 2010—Anything is Possible

With the spring’s late coming, the preparation work for the Summer Ski Sprint Tour 2010 is currently on-going. The Summer Ski Sprint Tour was successfully initiated in Changbai Mountain in 2007 and since then there has also been yearly competitions in Yakeshi and Aershan in Inner Mongolia. The news for 2010 is that there will be one display competition in Beijing.

The Summer Ski Sprint Tour 2010 will include one stage in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia, on June 21st, and one display competition in the well-known Qiaobo Ice & Snow World Gym in Beijing, on June 23rd.
